Tollesbury to Salcott
(Our overall day number 5 - Part of The KC3 ECP Leg 36 - Maldon to Salcott)Tollesbury to Salcott
28th October 2021 | Miles 10.8 | Elevation gain 25ft
An 8 mile walk around the Old Hall Marshes. It took us nearly 11 miles of walking as we walked an extra 3 miles back to Tollesbury due to the infrequent bus service from Salcott.
Getting there and back
We parked in the same car park as the day before just outside Tollesbury Marina, and picked up the coast path from the Marina. By walking back from Salcott to Tollesbury, we turned this into a circular walk, which seemed like a brilliant idea in the planning but felt less inspiring when we were walking back!
Weather conditions
Bright and sunny, not much wind and very pleasant temperatures
Walking difficulty
Easy - very flat and well marked paths. Just note that this section is very remote with few other people around and no facilities - we also had to add distance to loop back to our parking spot, as public transport options were limited
