Sand Bay to Brean
8th October 2022 | Miles 9.0 | Elevation gain 499ft
A 9 mile walk, starting half way up Sand Bay, down the beach, then into the woodland to round the point and into Weston. It was low tide so we were able to walk down the vast beach until we reached the River Axe, following it until we could cross at Brean Sluice to reach our end point for the day.
Ever Again?
Very pleasant walk, mix of beach, woodland and a bit of promenade - we'd do it again!
Getting there and back
We parked our car at Diamond Farm Holiday Park (with permission and purchase of bacon sandwiches and the ice cream at the end), the 20 Coaster bus runs fro outside the gates back to the Interchange at Weston, from where we caught the open top 1 Coaster bus up to Sand Bay.
Weather conditions
Beautiful autumn day with lots of sunshine and light winds, reaching a high of 15 degrees. A little chilly at first especially on the open top bus!
Walking difficulty
Easy - flat walking apart from some small inclines in the woods around the point north of Weston.

The 1 Coaster open top bus. We survived the surprisingly cold wind and the marauding low hanging branches trying to decapitate us!
