Brean to Highbridge
9th October 2022 | Miles 13.1 | Elevation gain 608ft
A 13.5 mile walk starting at Brean, heading north up the beach to climb the 300ft up to Brean Down, then back down the beach all the way to Burnham on Sea, where the path heads inland to Highbridge to finish the day at the railway station, which is around half a mile from where the path turns back towards the sea.
Getting there and back
We caught the 20 Coaster bus from the Weston Interchange, down to Brean to start the walk. At the end of the day we caught the fast intercity train back to Weston from Highbridge & Burnham station, which is around half a mile from where the path turns back towards the sea.
Weather conditions
A little more overcast with a brisk southerly wind making the walk down Brean Beach a little less pleasant than it would otherwise have been! High of 16 degrees, though it didn't feel like it.
Walking difficulty
Moderate - the climb up to Brean Down is a lung-buster but well worth it - from there it's a flat walk down the beach past Burnham and into Highbridge.
