Highbridge to Bridgwater

10th October 2022 | Miles 14.5 | Elevation gain 45ft

A 14.5 mile walk starting at Highbridge, heading out towards the Severn Estuary, and then inland to follow the east bank of the River Parrett all the way to Bridgwater. Not many other humans were seen for most of the day!
Getting there and back
We caught the fast intercity train from Weston to Highbridge & Burnham, and then at the end of the day took the reverse train from Bridgwater back to Weston
Weather conditions
Lovely sunny conditions with a high of 15 degrees. The wind switched round to the north, making the walk south much more pleasant, and we felt very wamr at times.
Walking difficulty
Easy with no inclines and a generally well marked path, but be aware that there aren't many easy bail out points for the majority of the walk

The final section of the walk currently has a diversion along some busy roads - not very pleasant
