Lynemouth to Amble
7th October 2024 | Miles 11.5 | Elevation gain 277ft
An 11.5 mile walk up the gorgeous Northumberland coast line. From Lynemouth, we had to walk up the road for a bit - at the time of our walk, the path through the dunes was closed for around the first mile. After two miles we reached Cresswell, where we stopped for breakfast, and from there it's a fabulous six miles up the beach - easy flat walking on the wet sand at anything other than high tide, and a wonderful bit of coast. The last two miles into Amble run through some dunes and then into the town. Our favourite day so far in the North East!
Getting there and back
We parked the car at the Amble Braid car park, slightly north of Amble, walked for five minutes into Amble and caught the X20 bus from Fourways to the Resource Centre in Lynemouth to start the walk.
Weather conditions
Partly cloudy, with sun later - very pleasant walking conditions - save this walk for a nice day
Walking difficulty
Easy and flat - the dunes were a little tricky at times so best to plan this walk when you can walk up the beach
