Third time guest walkers Pete & Ellie
A nine mile walk from Tintagel, with its legendary castle, to Port Isaac. One of the tougher sections of the South West Coast Path, with high cliffs and a number of steep valleys. Originally planned as a considerably longer walk to reach Newquay, the rain, and the consequential underfoot conditions, curtailed our walking, but did mean we were able to join in the Padstow 'Obby 'Oss May Day celebrations.
Day by day
How we approached this leg
Our original plan, scuppered by the weather, was to complete this stretch over four days walking - Day 1 Tintagel to Port Isaac, day 2 to Rock, day 3 to Porthcothan, day 4 to Newquay. We'll be back!
Where we stayed
We stayed in a caravan park near Porthcothan, which would have been convenient for the washed out walking days, but just under an hour's drive from Tintagel/Port Isaac.
