Burnham Overy Staithe to Hunstanton

3rd April 2022 | Miles 14.9 | Elevation gain 142ft

A 14.9 mile walk from Burnham Overy Staithe, heading out round more marshes. From Brancaster, it's two miles along the main road to reach Thornham, then north-west to reach Holme Dunes and more fabulous endless sandy beach. From Gore Point it's another three and a half miles along the beach until the path rises up to meet the cliffs of Hunstanton.
Getting there and back
We caught the 36 Coastliner from outside the cottage back to Burnham Overy Staithe to begin the walk. On reaching Hunstanton, we caught the same bus back to the cottage. Note that the 36 only runs every two hours on a Sunday, so careful planning is needed.
Weather conditions
Chilly, mainly overcast with some sunny spells - a light wind in our faces for most of the day
Walking difficulty
Easy - flat and some lovely sections on the beach. The two miles up the A149 were less fun, and hopefully the England Coast Path will ultimately find a different route closer to the coast

A navigational error meant we missed the loop up to Brancaster Beach - we tried to rectify it before heading home the following morning but got warned off by this sign!
