A 13.3 miles walk from Shoreham-By-Sea, past the harbour at Portslade, then along the promenade through Hove and Brighton, then under the cliffs as far as Saltdean, where we climbed up to the cliff tops for the final two miles to Peacehaven

Getting there and back
We left home very early, and parked our car at the Roderick Avenue (south) car park in Peacehaven. From the main road, we caught the 12X Coaster bus back to Brighton railway station, from where we caught the train to Shoreham-By-Sea. Both these services run regularly from early to late in the day.
For a one day trip by public transport, it would be train to Brighton (direct services from London), then another train to Shoreham-By-Sea, and at the end of the day, 12X bus back to Brighton station.
Weather conditions
Warm, rising to 22 degrees in the afternoon. Much cooler than some of the other days around this time.
Walking difficulty
Easy - a tedious walk along busy roads to start the leg, then enjoyable and easy promenade walking through Brighton. Short climb to end the day.
