Peacehaven to Exceat

27th July 2022 | Miles 11.0 | Elevation gain 1459ft

An 11.0 mile walk from Peacehaven to the Seven Sisters park centre at Exceat. Along the tops from Peacehaven then descending into Newhaven, around the end of the deep harbour, back towards the coast through the industrial eastern part, then along the shoreline through Seaford, rising onto Seaford Head and then descending into Cuckmere to finish the walk at the top of the Cuckmere River estuary.
Getting there and back
We parked our car in Exceat at the Seven Sisters Country Park. The bus stop is just outside the car park, from where we caught the 12 Coaster bus back to Peacehaven to start the walk. To do by public transport, the train runs to Brighton and then the 12 Coaster runs between Brighton and Eastbourne
Weather conditions
Mostly sunny and warm, around 21 degrees by early afternoon
Walking difficulty
Easy - borderline moderate, along the cliff tops at the start of the day and then a big up and and down over Seaford Head near the end of the day.
