Filey to Scarborough

24th June 2024 | Miles 9.3 | Elevation gain 1345ft

Just over 9 miles from Filey, along the seafront for a bit, then up to the cliff tops towards Filey Brigg. Turning north west, the path runs along tops and the broad sweep of The Wyke and Cayton Bay, then a section in the woods near Cayton Cliff, before descending for the final stretch into Scarborough
Getting there and back
We parked our car at Scarborough station and caught the Northern train service to Filey which takes 15 minutes. From Filey station it's a ten minute walk down the front to pick up the path. At the far end, we finished our day at the ferris wheel, from where it's a fifteen minute walk up the hill to the station car park.
Weather conditions
Perfect - lovely blue skies and sunshine, around 20 degrees with a gentle breeze
Walking difficulty
Moderate - quite a bit of elevation but nothing too steep
